Activities Committee
A huge
thank you goes out to those of you who attended the June Sporting Clays Outing/meeting on June
8th at Acres for Recreation. Due to the downpour
that day, we were not able to shoot, but still ended up with a nice group for the meal and
meeting. We would also like to thank the members who were
willing to sponsor a station for this event…maybe next year!
Those members were Dynamic Designs Unlimited, Knope Heating &
A/C, Sherwin-Williams Co., Stone Creations of Wisconsin, Torborg’s Shawano Lumber and Zachow Plumbing &
Pump.
July
13th will be our next meeting -- the Picnic/Pig
roast! This past September at the Shawano County Fair, WRBA
purchased a pig from one of the area 4-H/FFA members. Scott
Breitrick has volunteered to cook our pig for us, and the balance of the meal will be catered in. WRBA will also
provide plates, utensils, cups, soda and water. If you are
interested in any other type of beverage, it will be on a b.y.o.b. basis (bring your own
beverage).
This
event will be held at Pella’s Mill Park, a wonderful facility for a picnic. There is a huge covered shelter, regular bathrooms, coolers to keep
food/beverages cold, etc! Pella’s Mill Park is located in Pella on
Cty Hwy D/Cty M on Park Street. Please RSVP if you plan to attend!
If anyone is interested in donating a door prize for our
meetings, let Diane know! You will be acknowledged in the next
newsletter. WRBA provided the door prizes for the last
meeting.
The Golf Outing is also coming up on August
10th and will be held at the Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil. A flyer on this event will be coming out soon. We will be looking for a major event sponsor as well as individual hole
sponsors.

Education Committee
WRBA currently does not
have any lead classes scheduled. We do have a waiting list started
again and will schedule another class as soon as WBA Foundation can put it on the calendar! You can also check the Wisconsin Builders Association website for classes
being held by other area locals.

Advertising Committee Our main
advertising campaign with the Shawano Shopper’s Guide is a quarterly program and is just heading into the 3rd
quarter. We get the full front page of the Shopper once per month,
giving you prime business card size advertising space for $110 per quarter (three issues-one per month).
If you are unfamiliar with our program or to check on availability, contact Karen
Theis. If you are interested in “guaranteeing” your spot and would
like to pay once a year rather than every quarter, WRBA offers a 5% discount to our “annual
subscribers”.

Committee
Another project has been
completed at the Heritage Park Historical Society property. Windy
and Henry Perry and their family recently completed the painting of the Judges Stand at the park. This stand was originally located at the Shawano County Fairgrounds out in
front of the grandstand – years ago.
Again, thank you to all of the members who so graciously have volunteered their time and talents on various
projects.
