Community Service
Committee
The WRBA membership has been very busy with a variety of activities. Pete Krueger and Dave
Theis did some repair work at the Athletic Park for the Youth League on the concession stand building last
month. Jonathon Engel, Mark Flunker and Brian Heins replaced
the existing porch on the Kast House at Heritage Park in May.
Randy Bohm, Scott Breitrick, Steve Grover, Rich Raddant and Bill Rapaich all helped with the
roof/lighting that was put up over the door at the Archives Building at Heritage Park last fall. Thank you to all of these members for volunteering your time! The recipient’s of your help are truly appreciative!
We have also given away eight phone cards at this point to area families with a family member
serving overseas. (More available! See Diane) The
admission at the Home Show door raised a total of $2421.00 for Habitat for Humanity and a LOT of canned goods
for SAFPARC, the area food pantry shelves!! We also will be purchasing a flag pole for cost from Gary
Felckowski and putting it up at the Shawano Middle School when the track is completed.
This last month a $500 donation was made to the Navarino Nature Center (NNC) for one of the leaves on the
“Giving Tree”. This donation will help the NNC pay off its Green
Building loan. WRBA held its November 2009 meeting at NNC, and
members were able to enjoy an informative presentation and tour of the facility.
WRBA has been very busy!! It looks like the community is starting
to “know” WRBA!
Home Show Committee
Home Show committee has completed another successful show and is already starting to make plans for the 2011
show. Dates for 2011 will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April
8th, 9th, & 10th. This past year’s vendors have already been contacted! If you are interested in helping
with this committee, the next meeting will be Tuesday, June 15th at 4:30 in the WRBA office
(conference room). We’d love to have you join
us!
Thank You!
Our Home Show Committee
Chairman, Cap Wallrich, received a wonderful letter from the Shawano County Historical Society.
“The Shawano County
Historical Society would like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in the 2010 show. We are so appreciative of your donating space for the Shawano County
Historical Society booth and look forward to the ability to again display the history and artifacts at the 2011
show.
Your
generosity is a true testament to the dedication of the WRBA and the importance of remembering and recording
the history of Shawano County. Respectfully yours, Ronald
Schumacher, President, Shawano County Historical Society”
Tip of the Week - Cellcom
First tip of the week from Cellcom for all phones:
When calling someone and
have to leave them a message, you can save time and bypass their voicemail greeting message by pressing ** when
the message begins. This will take you directly to the tone and you can begin your message.
Second tip of the week from
Cellcom for Blackberry phones:
By
pressing Alt + Right Cap's + Del on a Blackberry phone you can simulate battery pull, which resets your phone.
Remember – you should ‘power cycle’ your phone once a day.
